Lauren Adams, M.D.

Lauren Adams, M.D.Lauren Elizabeth Adams, M.D. began her undergraduate career at Duke University, where she majored in history and graduated summa cum laude. While pursuing her medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine, she became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honors society. Dr. Adams graduated from medical school summa cum laude, and was awarded the American Medical Women’s Association Glasgow-Rubin Certificate of Commendation, the John P. Craig MD Award for Academic Excellence in Microbiology and Immunology, and the William Montagna MD Award for Excellence in Dermatological Research.

Dr. Adams, a board-certified dermatologist, completed her internship at Maimonides Medical Center, and her Dermatology Residency at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. She served as Chief Resident during her final year of residency. During medical school and residency, Dr. Adams participated in anti-oxidant and skin-aging studies, and she has a special interest in maintaining the health and glow of her patients’ skin.

In 2018, Dr. Adams became board certified in Lifestyle Medicine.  Lifestyle Medicine involves the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic approaches, such as predominantly whole food, plant-based diet, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substance use, and other non-drug modalities, to prevent, treat, and oftentimes, reverse the lifestyle-related, chronic disease that's all too prevalent.

She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the College of Lifestyle Medicine. In her free time, Dr. Adams enjoys exercising, cooking and spending time with her family.  She resides with her husband and children in Connecticut.
